Marshawn Lynch Got His Power Back

Marshawn Lynch has been battling a nagging hamstring injury this season. He’d missed time, and when he played, he wasn’t himself, amassing rushing yardage totals of just 73, 41, 14, and 54 yards. In our NFL preview podcast this week (audio above), we asked Seahawks reporter Bob Condotta if there was concern not necessarily that Lynch would be bad, but if his age and mileage meant he’d no longer be the dominant bowling ball he’d been. For now at least, those fears have been quelled. With 27 rushes for 122 yards and a touchdown, Lynch was back to his old self where you need eight guys to tackle him.

And the Seahawks defense likewise regained its stifling form. Seattle plays the Cowboys next week before their bye, and it feels like they’re themselves again. It would’ve made for a lot more drama if they’d had more stout competition in one of these two pre-bye games, fighting to get back to .500 before the stretch run, but such is life. Nevertheless, a home matchup against Arizona when they return on November 15th is one to circle on your calendar.
