EAST REGIONAL- #3 Syracuse vs #11 Marquette (TruTV, 7:40)
Marquette won the only regular season meeting, at home, 76-70. Syracuse will want to press their height advantage inside with Rick Jackson, Brandon Triche, and Kris Joseph. Jimmy Butler will need to stay in the game and play well inside for Marquette to have a chance.
The Pick: Syracuse
SOUTHWEST REGIONAL- #1 Kansas vs #9 Illinois (TNT, 8:40)
Illinois has the height to compete with Kansas, but they will need to play strong against the Morris’ twins. Illinois will try to defend inside out and hope the Kansas shooters have an off night. Demetri McCamey will need to come up big.
The Pick: Kansas
Offense versus Defense in this one. Florida State is athletic and will present problems, but it is too inconsistent offensively. Notre Dame’s veteran guards make the difference, and the Big East’s highest remaining seed advances.
