John Calipari has had a lot of excellent players come through the Kentucky basketball program over the last eight years, but freshman Malik Monk made a strong case that he might be the best of them with an incredible 47-point performance in a 103-100 win over North Carolina.

Monk, who is a lock to be an NBA lottery pick in 2017 – the only question is how high – made 18-of-28 shots, including 8-of-12 3-pointers, including the game-winner in the final minute.

Against Michigan State earlier this season, Monk nailed seven 3-pointers, but this performance was truly special. Monk instantly put himself in the class of players like Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, and John Wall for greatest Kentucky star in the Calipari era.

But will he be able to deliver a title like Anthony Davis?
