LSU Decides it Won't Play in Any Postseason Tournament

Minutes after the NCAA Tournament brackets were released, the LSU Tigers made a surprising announcement: It would not be participating in any postseason tournament.
Weird move, right?
You’ve got a big draw in Ben Simmons, you could build some momentum for next year by making a run to an NIT title … why not? It’s not like Antonio Blakeney is leaving for the NBA after that freshman season.
Guess there are some really ugly issues in that locker room that need to be sorted out. Or, maybe this wasn’t the team’s decision, but the AD decided that maybe they need a new coach, and it’s more important to start that process now instead of playing in a meaningless postseason tournament.
Prediction: In the next 2-3 months, we’re going to be reading some really unflattering pieces about Simmons and his time in Baton Rogue.
