Lionel Messi Made an Appearance on Japanese Game Show, Apparently

Barcelona is on its winter break, which means Lionel Messi has some free time on his hands. Part of that free time included this appearance on a Japanese game show to set a new world record (!) for kicking a ball 18 meters (59 feet) over a barrier in the air. Messi traps the ball and juggles three times to win the game, all the while the riff from Puff Daddy’s “Come with Me”(*) keeps droning on in the background.

This is decidedly less surreal than last summer when Messi’s long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo appeared live on Japanese television.

(*) Yes, obviously it’s a Led Zeppelin riff originally.
