LeBron James Signs Three-year, $100 Million Deal With Cavaliers, Will Be Highest Paid Player In NBA

LeBron James has finally re-signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the contract is a big one. The King has reportedly inked a three-year, $100 million contract that will make him the highest-paid player in the NBA for the first time.
James is slated to make $31 million during the 2016-17 season, which puts him at the top of the NBA’s salary rankings. He’ll also make more than $33 million in 2017-18, which will make him the highest-paid player in league history.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst had the news first:

There is no word on the opt-outs that are sure to be contained within the contract.
After finally bringing a championship to Cleveland, James can write his own ticket there. No one there will ever complain about his salary even if he gets injured or his play somehow rapidly declines. We all knew he was going to re-sign, it was just a matter of when and how much. Now we know, and no one can argue that he hasn’t earned that big paycheck.
