LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul opened Wednesday night’s ESPYS with a call for social change. The four close friends all took the stage and addressed many of the problems currently clogging headlines in the United States. The NBA stars called out on subjects like race, police violence, injustice and the need to come together.

It was a powerful scene as they implored fellow athletes to use their popularity for good and fight for social change and justice. They demanded equality while condemning retaliation and violence.

James capped the segment off with poignant words: “We all have to do better.” Amen.

Kudos to all four men for taking a stand and hopefully guiding a way to a better tomorrow.
