"Alston smashed Franceschini with the bottle during a dispute that began in the Woodside, Queens, club and spilled out on the street, said Franceschini’s lawyer, John Rapawy. Alston was not involved in the fight in the bar, Rapawy said, but the lawyer claimed the hoopster attacked Franceschini in the street … “My client had 12 staples in his head. He suffered a concussion,” the lawyer said. Rapawy said he and his client filed a police report, although Alston was not arrested. Police sources confirmed an assault complaint had been filed against Alston, but said it was sealed and they could not give out any more information."

This isn’t Alston’s first incident in a club – back in 2007, when he was playing for the Rockets, he was arrested for slashing a man in the throat during an altercation in New York. (Charges were eventually dropped.) But Alston runs into trouble outside of the nightlife scene, too – he was arrested following an incident with a parking lot attendant in 2007l. I looked really hard on the internet this morning but couldn’t find any video of either of these incidents.

Alston actually had a couple decent seasons in Houston, and he always had a slick handle, but his problem was that he couldn’t shoot. He shot 38 percent from the field for his career. He spent last year in the Chinese Basketball Association. This is why they call him, “Skip to My Lou.” [H/T Jon, [NY Post]
