Kevin Love, still salty about having his shoulder destroyed by Boston’s Kelly Olynyk, an injury that ended his season, refuses to take calls from the Celtics’ big man or accept his apology. From another must-read column by Woj:

"Boston Celtics forward Kelly Olynyk and his representatives have continued to deliver word to Love and people close to him that Olynyk wants to privately apologize to him, sources told Yahoo Sports. Olynyk wants to tell Love personally that he never intended to injure him in Game 4 of that series, that he’s sorry for the shoulder surgery that’ll cost Love six months. Strangely, Love continues to rebuff Olynyk. He isn’t interested in the call, refusing to ease Olynyk’s guilt."

You can understand Love’s frustrations. He had an up-and-down season, but played well against Boston for 3+ games in his first trip to the playoffs. And after six years in Minnesota of losing and early summer vacations, he finally gets to the playoffs and this happens.

(Boston might have to resort to more aggressive talks to get that apology through … remember, the Celtics covet Love in free agency.)

A quick word on the Cavs easy 106-91 victory over the Bulls – there was far too much LeBron (29 shots, in 34 minutes) for this team to win two games in Chicago this weekend. I’m not certain they get one. The return of JR Smith will help, but not if Iman Shumpert’s groin injury is serious. (How does Kyrie attempt 20 fewer shots than LeBron in the same amount of time on the court? He did get to the line 12 times, though.) And I loved Cleveland coach David Blatt’s response to their Game 1 defensive struggles, which was also in the Woj coulmn:

"“We swept our first series, and then we lost one game. I mean, Christ, give me a break. And we’re missing 40 percent of our starting lineup. I mean, let’s just be fair. We had the best record in the NBA since January. The best record in the NBA. That just [bleeping] happened? That came out of nowhere?”"

Blatt knows if the Cavs are bounced in this series, LeBron’s going to fire him and handpick the next coach. Game 3 is Friday night.
