Jose Mourinho will reportedly take the reins at Manchester United early next week, as the former Chelsea boss should be announced publicly as soon as current manager Louis van Gaal is officially let go.

Van Gaal led the Red Devils to a thrilling 2-1 win in the FA Cup Final on Saturday, but shortly after the match the long-expected news of his imminent sacking hit the Internet. Mourinho has been linked to United ever since he stepped down from his post at Chelsea in December. The man nicknamed “The Special One” took the Blues to a Premier League title in 2015, but a terrible start to this season sank the club and caused his departure.

Mourinho is widely considered one of the best managers in the world. He has produced results at each stop in his career, scoring three Premier League titles, one FA Cup, two Champions League titles and an assortment of other league championships and domestic cups.

While Mourinho’s personality rubs some the wrong way, there is no doubting his skill as a manager. With the money and clout he’ll have at Manchester United, he could quickly turn around a club that turned in a disappointing fifth-place finish this year under van Gaal.
