Jordan Spieth ripped a troll on Instagram who said “he’s garbage” with his putter. Spieth has struggled in his last four outings and has had guys like Rory McIlroy show up to defend him, which Spieth really didn’t need because he is still the number one golfer in the world.

After the comments surfaced, Spieth told ESPN’s Bob Harig that he won’t be doing that anymore.

"“You’ll probably never see me do that again because obviously it was seen and known and — just really frustrating,” Spieth said after a 3-under-par 68 helped him make the 36-hole cut at Innisbrook, where the No. 1-ranked golfer in the world is the defending champion. “There’s really not a point. I should never respond to any of that, just let it go and by the time the next tournament rolls around no one even remembers it anyways.”"

Spieth is young, and it’s clear that he’s currently frustrated with his latest results, but he doesn’t need to defend himself at all. He had a blistering start to the season and has had a few disappointing rounds, but that’s how golf goes. One day you have it, and the next day you may not.

According to GolfOdds.com, Spieth is still the favorite to win the Masters, as he should be.
