John Oliver Lambasts FIFA: "It's a comically grotesque organization"

John Oliver’s relatively new HBO has gotten so good so fast. He details a $270 million stadium, which is only slated to host four World Cup games, constructed in an area of Brazil so remote that the building materials had to be transported in from the Amazon River. “Think of money as pubic hair and FIFA as wax,” Oliver says. “They’re gonna be all over you during the World Cup, but when it ends they’re gonna take all the money with them.”

Some of FIFA’s taxpayer demands sound a lot like the way the NFL reportedly held Minneapolis ransom for its Super Bowl bid, which begs the question: Which organization capitalizes on its feverish fan base in a more repugnant manner?
