Jerry Jones Says Viral Photos Were "Misrepresented"

Jerry Jones has made his first public comments since photos, which appeared to show him having some fun with two Dallas-area strippers, made their way through the Internet earlier this week. “Someone has misrepresented photos taken at a restaurant five years ago for their own purposes and so I’m just not going to comment,” said Jones, via Todd Archer at ESPN Dallas.

Because the Cowboys owner didn’t elaborate, we’ll likely never know what could possibly have been misrepresented, though the person believed to have leaked them does seem a bit eccentric. Jones, who, as you know, is not typically camera shy, had avoided the media all week — he stayed off the field before the team’s preseason game against San Diego on Saturday, and didn’t talk to reporters afterwards either. He claimed to have a cold, but it seems like everybody within earshot felt like that was an excuse as opposed to a reason.

Archer’s report also passes along Jones’s first public comment about Dean Blandino, the NFL’s VP of Officiating who was videotaped skipping off the Cowboys’ party bus:

"“I just don’t have a problem with it at all,” Jerry Jones said, “and I don’t deem it inappropriate at all. Part of Blandino’s job during the offseason is to network with the clubs, that’s a good thing. Officiating is doing a good job, and I just don’t have a problem with that. As you know, our bus is an area that we entertain and that’s what we do. So I just don’t have a problem with that.”"

There will probably never be another owner quite like Jerry Jones in American sports for as long as we live.
