Jeff Taylor, a 3rd year player on the Charlotte Hornets, was arrested Thursday morning on domestic assault charges according to WCNC in Charlotte.

No further details are available yet.

Taylor, a star at Vanderbilt, was drafted in the 2nd round in 2012 by Charlotte and appeared in 77 games, starting 29. He averaged 6.1 ppg in a solid rookie year. While seeing increased minutes in year two, Taylor tore his Achilles just 26 games into the season, and he had surgery.

In a post-Ray Rice era, where all the professional sports leagues are keeping a closer eye on domestic abuse, it’ll be interesting to see how Charlotte owner Michael Jordan handles this. Taylor is the second pro athlete in North Carolina this year arrested for domestic abuse (Greg Hardy of the Panthers is the other).
