The Cleveland Indians lead the Toronto Blue Jays 2-0 in the American League Championship Series.

Incredible pitching from Josh Tomlin and Corey Kluber and clutch hitting from Francisco Lindor has been the difference. Lindor has driven in three runs. The entire Jays team has scored one run.

According to Jose Bautista, though, there’s a reason his team has only scored once in 18 innings. That reason is a widespread conspiracy so sinister that the media is afraid to cover it.

Bautista is 0-for-6 with 5 strikeouts. On the bright side, he’s walked twice. Apparently that has more to do with the strike zone in Games 1 and 2 than his ability to make any contact at all.

The Indians Twitter account noticed Bautista’s comments and decided to offer a different interpretation of the situation.

There’s a practical reason for Bautista to lobby for a more favorable strike zone but implying some some sort of rigged system is in place seems like a leap. Then again, that seems to be the popular thing to do right now.
