Both teams lead their respective divisions, but Atlantic runaways Toronto—sitting just behind Eastern Conference leaders, the Milwaukee Bucks—have looked especially imperious at home, where they boast a 27-6 return.

Houston Rockets: Tuesday’s visitors are 16-16 away from home this term but have responded brilliantly after they suffered successive road defeats to the Minnesota Timberwolves and L.A. Lakers around All-Star Weekend.

Houston’s Mike D’Antoni was victorious in his first trip to face the Raptors as Rockets head coach (Jan. 2017) but holds a finely weighted 2-3 record against Toronto overall in his current role.

Houston star James Harden may have recently lost his streak of consecutive 30-point games—which ended at 32—but he’s thrown up 90 points alone in his last two games. The 58 he scored against the Miami Heat on Thursday almost broke his own NBA single-game record for this season (61 points).

The MVP frontrunner attributed the Rockets’ recent boost in form to the return of key players following injury:

“We’re finally healthy. We’re winning, guys know their roles, we’re executing defensively, we’re helping each other out, we’re talking. It was kind of tough before because we had so many guys out. Chris (Paul) missed a few weeks Clint (Capela) missed a few weeks. We had guys in and out of the lineup. It feels really, really good to have a full roster and catch a rhythm. And this is the perfect time for it.”

Toronto Raptors: Toronto shot-caller Nick Nurse only took over in the position in June 2018 and suffered a narrow 121-119 loss in Houston five weeks ago, hopes to set the record straight at home this week.

Toronto has won nine of their last home games against Houston, but the Rockets will take heart knowing both those victories have come in their last three visits to the Scotiabank Arena. You can catch this matchup, plus every marquee NBA game, live on fuboTV. Sign up now for a free trial.
