Frank Beamer to Retire as Virginia Tech Head Coach This Season

Frank Beamer, who has been the head football coach at Virginia Tech for 29 years, is stepping down at season’s end according to a report.

Beamer has won 234 games for the Hokies since taking over as head coach in 1987, but he just turned 69 years old, and now there’s another head coaching opening.
That makes eight head coach openings, including two good ones in the ACC – Miami and now Virginia Tech.
