Everyone Knows Michigan Beat Ohio State Last Year

Michigan stuffed Ohio State’s J.T. Barrett on a fourth-down run in double overtime last year in Columbus to win, 27-24. The Wolverines went on to beat Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship and made the College Football Playoff. It was a smashing success for Jim Harbaugh in his second year. No one denies this!

Or so Michigan running back Karan Higdon would have you believe.

“For me, I think everyone knows we definitely won that game, hands down,” Higdon told reporters on Monday. “But it is what it is. I can’t change the result. No one can. That was on us to put it in the hands of the refs.”

Higdon’s comment is obviously getting some strong run. To be fair, he should be commended for doing the bare minimum and admitting Michigan shouldn’t have been in the situation at all.

The Wolverines have beaten the Buckeyes exactly twice since 2001. Ohio State is a 12-point favorite in Ann Arbor this weekend. Barring something unexpected, Urban Meyer’s team will walk away with the official, recognized win.

Michigan players will then have a full year to hop in the spin zone and take us to an alternate reality.
