Eli Apple's Lack of Knowledge About Beef Stock Could Affect Draft Stock

It’s always a joy to read Bob McGinn’s anonymous scout reports on NFL Draft prospects, to get inside the mind of the NFL scout. So many things I never would have considered as important, being a layman. For example, here’s part of the assessment of Eli Apple:

"“They were surprised he ran that well. I worry about him because of off-the-field issues. The kid has no life skills. At all. Can’t cook. Just a baby. He’s not first round for me. He scares me to death.”"

Eli Apple did really poorly in the 3-pan drill at the Combine, and struggled in the 40-second reheat. Though, to be fair, it’s probably because he was still shaken over being asked if he liked men by a real NFL coach at the Combine. Inability to cook is one of the least offensive things said by “anonymous scouts” so at least there’s that.

UPDATE: There’s more to this story, and insulting the Apple name when it comes to not being able to cook is a bigger slight than saying he ran too slow.
