Drew Brees appeared to injure his shoulder at some point during the Saints’ 26-19 loss to Tampa Bay Sunday, but he didn’t miss a play.

But it sounds like the injury is much more serious than previously thought – Brees could miss “several” games according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

The Saints are 0-2 and if Brees misses the next few games – at the Panthers (who have a good defense), then vs. the Cowboys (ask Sam Bradford about their defense), followed a trip to Philadelphia and then hosting the Falcons on October 15th on Thursday night football – the Saints can kiss the 2015 season goodbye.

It’s unclear if Luke McCown will be the starter in place of Brees, or if Sean Payton would ride with rookie Garrett Grayson.

Brees turns 37 in January.
