And on the third day…

Derrick Rose AGAIN.

Per K.C. Johnson of The Chicago Tribune and Lisa Salters’ report during the ABC broadcast of Sunday’s Chicago Bulls vs. Cleveland Cavaliers game,  Rose will “likely” return to the lineup by the end of next week.

“He’s not sure,” Salters said re: Derrick’s exact return date. “They’re discussing it with the doctors, the front office, the coaches. But he told me likely sometime this week.”

Rose underwent knee surgery on February 27th to repair his torn meniscus, his third knee surgery in as many years, and was expected to miss four to six weeks. This upcoming Friday, April 10th, will be exactly six weeks from when Rose had the procedure on his injured knee, and needless to say: his return to the lineup can’t come soon enough for the Bulls — who have gone 10-8 since his exit.

During the 46 games that Rose has played in this season, he’s averaged 18.4 points, 5.0 assists and 3.1 rebounds in 31.0 minutes per game — while shooting 40.7% from the field…

Despite another injury-plagued season, the Bulls have persevered, once again, and currently own the #3 seed in the Eastern Conference with a record of 46-30.
