Derrick Rose Cried at a Sneaker Event

Derrick Rose tore his ACL and MCL in April. Yesterday, adidas held an event to unveil Rose’s new sneakers, Rose broke down and cried after seeing a video about his heroic comeback. After grabbing a tissue and collecting himself, Rose explained why it meant so much to him. From the Washington Post:

“It’s truly a blessing with all the stuff that is going on in the city. A kid from Englewood’s got something positive going on. That makes me feel so good. … To have my true fans, that means a lot to me and I know it means a lot to my family.”

So now we know that D-Rose is a delicate flower? That’s fine. Heck, Derrick Rose is a real little boy now. And adidas is probably hopeful this will help him sell more shoes. As long as he is able to come back and jump and slash and score again, that is all fine.
