DeMarcus Cousins Threatened a Reporter For Mentioning His Brother in a Column

DeMarcus Cousins, as usual, is upset. Cousins latest unhappiness is directed at Sacramento Bee columnist Andy Furillo. In a column this week about Cousins’ night out with Matt Barnes, Furillo mentioned another incident that took place earlier this year at a Tampa nightclub where Cousins’ younger brother, Jaleel, was tased. After the column was published, Cousins confronted Furillo in the Kings locker room, got in his face and used some profane language. As the Sacramento Bee shows in this video, it’s not the first time Boogie has tried to intimidate reporters in Sacramento.

If Cousins doesn’t like writers bringing up off-court incidents involving his friends and family, he’s about to enter a rough period in his life. Almost no story about Cousins from here until the Matt Barnes incident is resolved will neglect it. And now that he’s blown up on someone about mentioning his brother, he’s brought more attention to that incident which some people may have missed since it happened on May 5th, right at the start of one of the busiest sports weekends on the year. Now that and this will also be footnotes in every column.
