Darren Rovell Tries To Shame Salvation Army, Gets Slapped Down

Darren Rovell is one of the sports world’s least-liked personalities on Twitter and he showed why Sunday night. After Ezekiel Elliott celebrated a touchdown by jumping into an over-sized Salvation Army bucket, the company tweeted about the incident in an attempt to stir up donations:
Zeke made an important contribution for the @dallascowboys tonight. Can you contribute to the millions in need? https://t.co/zwJrWxPYLj pic.twitter.com/12zBHxczIz

Rovell took at shot at the organization for doing so:
Not subtle. Salvation Army using Elliott now to ask for your money. https://t.co/KRj49Y08t6

And the Salvation Army had a swift response:
Our goal is to serve 58 million meals in the U.S. this year. No time to be subtle.

BOOM, roasted.
Hey Darren?
Nice work Salvation Army, that’s some good Twitter burning.
