Dana Holgorsen May Have Had Up to Six Alcohol-Related Incidents Since Joining West Virginia

The paper alleges the previous incidents were “hushed up.” After removing Holgorsen from the casino, police sent him home in a cab without filing charges.

"Nitro police were called to the casino at about 3:20 a.m. on May 18 to remove an apparently intoxicated customer who didn’t want to leave. Holgorsen was asked to step outside, sit on a bench and await a taxi. No charges were filed."

Holgorsen’s actions also, reportedly, have placed West Virginia AD Oliver Luck’s job in jeopardy.

"WVU athletic director Oliver Luck was summoned back to Morgantown from a Big East Conference athletic directors meeting by school president James Clements, according to sources. WVU’s president reportedly told Luck that if he read one more article about the coach-in-waiting, it would cost Luck his job."

This probably wasn’t the optimum event to coincide with Luck’s plan to begin beer sales at West Virginia football games.

Coaches should, at the very least, be held to the same behavior standards as their players. If a West Virginia player had three to six alcohol related incidents in a six-month span, would he still be in the program?
