Gian Clavell, a redshirt senior guard at Colorado State, was arrested and jailed on Wednesday on a charge of “false imprisonment, with a domestic violence enhancement.” Clavell was arrested on a similar charge in July 2015. Charges were eventually dropped and Clavell was reinstated to the team and started the first 10 games of the season.

From a Coloradoan article in July 2015:

"Police responding to a report about 9:45 a.m. Thursday of a verbal disturbance at 1100 Meridian Ave. observed Clavell grab the arm of a female student who was trying to walk away from him, according to the arrest affidavit obtained late Friday afternoon. The female, described in the affidavit as being “in an intimate relationship” with Clavell, told police that “when she wants to leave, he holds her hostage.” Clavell told police he knowingly detained the woman when she wanted to leave, according to the affidavit."

Clavell had 13 points and 12 rebounds in an exhibition game. Colorado State’s regular season begins on Sunday against New Mexico State. He is currently suspended from all team activities.
