Clint Dempsey put the United States up 4-1 on Germany via this curling effort in the 64th minute. It was his 35th international goal, moving him into second-place all-time for the U.S. behind Landon Donovan.

The Texan had scored minutes earlier thanks to a nice cross by Jozy Atlidtore, who is playing his best game wearing a U.S. jersey in years.

This game is why following the United States National Team can drive you nuts. Wednesday they were thoroughly outclassed in Cleveland by Belgium. Four days later they’re running a Germany team, albeit one missing many key players, off the field at RFK Stadium.
