Christian McCaffrey's Stanford Teammates Were Quite Excited by His Heisman Ceremony Invite

Stanford’s versatile playmaker Christian McCaffrey was at his best down the stretch, bolstering his Heisman Trophy chances. His teammates, fresh off winning a Pac-12 championship on the strength of his contributions, showed their appreciation by showering him as the finalists for the award were announced last night.

It’s hard to look at this type of joy and excitement and understand why only three players were invited to New York. Why not extend the honor to five or six players and have a larger celebration of college football? Why pass up an opportunity to recognize greatness? You can’t tell me that there’s any upside to a ceremony without Leonard Fournette and Keenan Reynolds in attendance. You can’t tell me there’s a great reason for Baker Mayfield to be watching it from home instead of next to his fellow stars.
