Cameron Heyward Will Probably Get Fined Again for Honoring Late Father

Cameron Heyward was fined $5,787 earlier this week for honoring his father Craig “Ironhead” Heyward, a longtime NFL fullback, who passed away from bone cancer in 2006, on his eye black. Per Fox officiating guru Mike Pereira, the Pittsburgh defensive end again violated the league’s uniform regulations, and will likely be fined over $11k this week. The NFL’s dogged quest for conformity is certainly irksome, and Heyward has clearly come to the conclusion that the amount of money he’s being fined is worth it to elicit conversation on the topic.
