Blake Griffin Took Chris Paul's Behind-the-Back Pass, Flew Through the Lane and Dunked

Also, Blake Griffin flushed a windmill dunk in a rout over the league’s worst team, the Bobcats.

The loss dropped the Bobcats to 3-24, and they’re hurtling inexorably toward the lottery. Michael Jordan’s franchise needs the first pick desperately. Anthony Davis would immediately help arguably the NBA’s worst defense (3rd in FG defense, tied for first in opponents PPG).

I’ll play the eternal optimist for a moment: In Kevin Durant’s rookie year, the Sonics were 20-62 (worst record in the West, 2nd worst overall). In his second year, they only won 23 games. The Bobcats are now missing their starting backcourt of Augustin and Henderson, which is part of the reason they’ve lost their last two games by 25 and 31 points. Even when they return, 2012 will be a massive struggle.

I still like the young nucleus, and when you add Anthony Davis to the mix, there should be an immediate improvement, then a larger one in 2013-2014, perhaps after they draft the scorer they’ve long needed … high school scoring machine Shabazz Muhammad.
