Bill McCartney Supports Jon Embree for Colorado Coach, Thinks We're All Racists

Here is Bill McCartney’s comment to the Denver Post.

"“It was never about me doing it again,” McCartney said. “It was about setting the table for a black man to come in (as head coach). And he (Mike Bohn) hired one. Now, give him a chance.”"

McCartney may have been busy with his religious ministry the last few years, but things have changed a bit for the positive since he last coached. Though underrepresented, a black man in a position of power is hardly a novel concept. We have a black president.  Four* black head coaches in the NFL have taken teams to the Super Bowl since 2007.

We haven’t progressed to the point where race is irrelevant, but I think (hope) reasonable Colorado fans would not dismiss Embree outright because of race or need the shock softened for them. Spend some time outside megachurches in Colorado.
