Russell Wilson dropped in a beautiful touchdown pass to Doug Baldwin to give the Seattle Seahawks a 31-24 lead with 4:25 left in the fourth quarter. Conventional wisdom suggested kicking the extra point. Pete Carroll instead opted to attempt a two-point conversion.

Bill Belichick, like everyone else, was surprised and verbalized his thoughts.

The try was unsuccessful but Seattle thwarted New England’s final drive to escape with a seven-point victory. Carroll said after the game that he was trying to “put it out of reach.”

One can understand such game theory.

What is harder to wrap one’s mind around is Belichick’s hat.

Definitely an interesting look.
