Bernard Hopkins got knocked out, knocked out of the ring, and knocked out of boxing entirely with a final barrage of punches from Joe Smith, Jr., in the eighth round on Saturday in Las Vegas.

That’s finally it for Hopkins, 51, who first fought professionally in 1988, after being released from prison. He won his first middleweight belt in 1994, and dominated his class until 2005. He finishes with a record of 55-8-2 with 32 knockouts.
After the fight, Hopkins said he was pushed out of the ring.
