Jorge Jesus, coach of Portuguese giants SL Benfica, could face criminal charges after he got into an altercation with police after this weekend’s game with Vitoria Guimaeres. A fan ran onto the field and the 59-year-old coach tried to restrain. It eventually led to Jesus mixing it up with the police officers.

From Yahoo’s Eurosport blog:

"“The fans came on the pitch and security tried to block one of them and I wanted them to leave him alone as he only wanted to look for a (player’s) jersey,” Jesus said afterwards."

Jesus faces a lengthy ban from the sidelines, which could go as long as three years. That would be an utter shame since the world needs to see his graying blonde mullet as often as humanely possible.

Mild suggestion: fans should stop running onto the field, nothing good can ever come of it. The days of Morganna the Kissing Bandit are long gone.
