Ben Affleck's Inability to Watch Boston Sports is Definitely an Homage to "Home Improvement"
By Kyle Koster

Boston sports fan and Hollywood A-Lister Ben Affleck was yet again prevented from watching one of his beloved teams due to promotional obligations surrounding The Accountant.
You’ll recall earlier this month Affleck asked a Sports Illustrated journalist about the New England Patriots-Buffalo Bills score only to have his heart broken on camera.
Last night, the movie’s premiere made watching the Red Sox’s win-or-go-home game against the Cleveland Indians a near impossibility. Affleck had to resort to stealing glances on a reporter’s phone.

At this point, Affleck is basically living in an episode of Home Improvement. His plight is not dissimilar to the annual plot where Tim Taylor wanted to watch the Lions/Pistons game but Jill made plans for them to have a nice dinner/attend the ballet.
Miss that show. Good, clean family humor at its finest.
Free idea: Affleck reprises the role in an edgy Netflix remake set in Southie instead of the Detroit suburbs. Who says no, except possibly Affleck?
