San Antonio 104, New Orleans 102: Tim Duncan capped a 28-point night with the game-winning sky hook. Can anyone explain the music selection in the Hive – if an empty arena is never buzzing, do they still call it the Hive? – after Duncan’s shot?

Memphis 91, Golden State 90: The Grizzlies scored 52 points in the first three quarters, then exploded for 39 in the fourth, overcoming a 20-point second-half deficit to stun the Warriors. Isn’t it strange how last year the Grizzlies lost Rudy Gay and got hot? Memphis lost Zach Randolph and has now won seven in a row.

Philadelphia 103, Washington 83: The Wizards trailed by 30 at the break and are now 2-15. Flip Saunders is on borrowed time. Elton Brand and Jrue Holiday combined to score 34 for the 12-5 76ers.

Boston 87, Orlando 56: The Magic shot 24 percent from the field, setting two embarrassing franchise records.

Oklahoma City 99, Detroit 79: Are the Pistons even trying? Joe Dumars has to go, right? Harden, Durant & Westbrook shot a combined 28-of-41 and scored 68 points. Westbrook’s worth the $80 million! (Bookmark that column and be ready to use it in the playoffs.)

Minnesota 92, Houston 107: Kevin Love scored 39 points and collected 12 rebounds, but Kyle Lowry messed around and had a triple double – 16 points, 10 assists, 10 rebounds – and the Rockets have won seven in a row. Ricky Rubio missed eight of 10 shots, and he’s had a rough week shooting (12-for-51, 23 percent). Rubio had 12 assists and is sixth in the NBA in assists per game (8.5 per). Listen to Patrick Patterson tell Rubio to “get that shit outta here.”

Dallas 93, Phoenix 87: The Mavericks are better without Dirk (knee), obviously. Matrix scored 29. The Nets would be dumb enough to take Dirk in some kind of swap for Deron Williams, right? What does the NBA trade machine say about a Dirk-for-Dwight swap, with spare parts thrown in? No worthwhile highlights from this game, so here’s Tyreke Evans hitting halfcourt bomb in the Kings’ loss.
