The Buckeyes have lost just once all season, and have been somewhat of a surprise after not receiving any Top 25 votes in the preseason polls. Second-year coach Chris Holtmann has his team running on all cylinders, but his squad still hasn’t faced a Top 25 opponent. They’re yet to face a major Big Ten test as well, and that’s exactly what they’ll get with Michigan State.

The Spartans have also won all of their conference games so far, and have lost just two of their 13 games overall. Cassius Winston is the star of the team, averaging 17 points and nearly eight assists while orchestrating the offense as a highly intelligent point guard who makes smart decisions in almost every possession.

In fact, passing and smart decisions are generally the strong suit of Tom Izzo’s team. Michigan State leads the nation in assists per game and assist percentage, and their ability to rebound and make plays in transition makes them a very tough opponent for the Buckeyes. The good news for Ohio State is that they’re a very good defensive team, and if they’re able to force the Spartans into more isolation plays, they have a good chance.

This will no doubt be a great Big Ten matchup between two red-hot teams, and the Ohio State crowd will be ready to rock.
