Johnny Manziel Heisman Run Generated $37 Million in Media Exposure For Texas A&M
How much money has Johnny Manziel been worth for Texas A&M? According to Texas A&M, the media exposure alone from his Heisman season was worth $37 million.
The university recently retained the services of a renowned sports and sponsorship evaluation company to measure the media exposure generated by the football team’s historic finish and quarterback Johnny Manziel winning the 2012 Heisman Trophy. Research conducted by Joyce Julius & Associates (www.joycejulius.com) shows that the redshirt freshman winning the prestigious trophy produced more than 1.8 million media impressions, which translates into $37 million in media exposure for Texas A&M.
That figure does not count sales of No. 2 jerseys and other ancillary profits Texas A&M will make from this young man, who some think should be thankful to have a scholarship, for at least the next two years. Administrators still have not gotten around to covering $3,000 cost of attendance payments. Amateur athletics, everyone.

Look, I’ve long been on the “they get paid in pussy and free learnin’” bandwagon since forever. HOWEVAH…I’m willing to say that the players ought to get some laundry money or a couple bucks here and there for meals.
Still…I’d loved to be paid in pussy.

I’m not saying this place is a FRAUD or not. I have no clue. It appears they have some big name clients. As well as the US Lawn Mower Racing League. However, their website is straight from 2002. Goodness. I’m not sure how anyone could take them seriously if their first impression is from their website.

That sounds like some backyard hillbilly shit you’d find around here. It’d take all 6 contestants to make a full set of teeth.

You’d be surprised how much money has changed hands based on a Joyce Julius report–which basically entails a dude sitting in front of a TV and hitting a stopwatch every time a logo pops up during a NASCAR race. Absolute joke.

A college friend of mine (this was 15 years ago) got an internship for some marketing company. His job was to go to theaters and watch first-run movies and count/takes notes of brand placement. He loved it. He just watched movies and his employers took his word for how many times a Snickers bar (or McDonalds or Ford or Whatever) turned up in a movie. He admitted the results were all bullshit as he was usually stoned and pretty much made up numbers.

Did anybody else read this and immediately think of South Park?

You do realize that the $37mm is theoretical right? It is not actual cash.

I would have committed serious acts of violence for this job during school.

Went out for my lunch break and it definitely isn’t warm out there. Not cold like reggie_dunlap cold but still. Speaking of that, if you see this reggie, I had been looking at 10-day weather forecasts to see which city/state had the coldest day coming up simply because I had nothing better to do at work. Saw a couple of cities that had lows getting down to 23 below 0, but Minot, ND took home the prize with a “high” of -10. They outta just say “It will get up to -10″ because the word “high” should never be used in the same sentence as 10 degrees below 0.

Just think of how much media exposure money that Manti Te’o is generating right now for ND!
