One-Point Safety: Oregon Gets The Rarest Score in College Football [Video]
All, College Football, Video January 3rd. 2013, 11:10pm
Kansas State blocked the Oregon extra point, carried the ball back into the end zone and then had the ball declared dead in the end zone. That resulted in an exceedingly rare one-point safety. It has only been done four times in NCAA history. The last occurred during the Texas vs. Texas A&M game in 2004.

I watch an absurd amount of football at all levels and never once have I seen this. My head about exploded.

I understand the Oregon 1-point safety because the ball never touched the ground and the Kansas State player ran the ball into the end-zone.
I don’t understand the Texas one because it looked like the ball skipped along the ground, past the line of scrimmage and was fallen on by an A&M player.
I thought if the ball touches the ground past the line of scrimmage on FGs, it’s a dead ball. Or is it that the offense can’t touch the ball first?

This is the 2nd most interesting thing I’ve learned this week, a group of owls being called a parliment is first. The whole extent of the maple syrup heist is a weak third.
