Notre Dame: George Atkinson III & Cierre Wood’s Fake Jump-Bump Celebration [GIF]
The jump-bump celebration is one of the most popular ways of acknowledging the great work of a teammate in both college football and the NFL. In baseball, there’s the hop-on-home-plate home run celebration, which has provided some serious backfire that Angels first baseman Kendrys Morales is all-too familiar with. And that’s what made the celebration between Notre Dame running backs George Atkinson III and Cierre Wood so fantastic following Atkinson’s TD. Not only did the two avoid risking a bizarre injury, but their pump fake led to a respectful, zen-like Miyagi bow. Superbly crafted routine.

Sparty blew it. Terrible coaching by Dantonio.

Personally, I didn’t think it was all that fantastic. Thought it was pretty retarded, actually.

Shocking, shocking comment.

Shocking enough to warrant 2 shockings? Unless you’re “superbly crafted routine” was sarcastic and I didn’t catch it. I can’t be the only one who thinks that’s a dumbass celebration.

Also that was a dumbass use of your/you’re on my part.

I can’t wait for Duffy’s post on Michigan’s amazing win today. While they should have no problem finishing better than MSU, I can’t say either team looked like it was worth a good god damn (at least on offense) today. Also, quite a bit of celebration by the UM students, especially because they don’t consider MSU a rivalry game.

Monster is Meth, clearly just pissed at himself for biting on the pump fake.

Denard was short on the 3rd down and they reviewed it and didn’t get it right! Also Gholston was held like whoa on that 2nd to last play. Nice home cooking. Good win for Michigan though.

Pretty sure Michigan considers MSU a rival. They’ll just never be the #1 rival.

He was on top of a player, and thus not down, when he reached out for the obvious first down.

Sparty has officially regressed to the mean.
Finding ways to lose since nineteen-forever.
Still, Muck Fichigan.

That is a joke right? Denard was on top of a player and never down. And please don’t complain about non-calls. There were several both ways in the game. The biggest being the blow to head that wasn’t called against Anthony White.

I agree with Tim Ryan.

I think one of the most interesting things about this game was that ESPN wanted nothing to do with it. The collective fan base of UM and MSU has to far exceed that of Nebraska and Northwestern. The problem is, Northwestern is probably better than both MSU and UM. The Big Ten is a disgrace this season…

Glad they had the Nebraska game. It was solid
Both MSU and M are impossible to watch this year.
Plenty of snow in Calgary…4 turnovers in the first 16 mins
Good ole Stampeder football!

Impossible to watch may very well describe Michigan against USC or Oregon in Pasadena.

loved this celebration

Right knee was down grandpa. Good win for Michigan. If Braxton is still alive for the game there will be a slaughter.
October 20th, 2012 at 8:34 PM
Not a chance as long as Luke is coaching that underachieving defense.
October 20th, 2012 at 8:49 PM
The right knee wasn’t down little brother. But keep thinking that is what meant MSU lost. I’ll go with the much more logical scenario that Michigan was more talented and healthier.
Not sure what part of an OSU game you have watched to think it will be a slaughter either way. More likely to be like the #1 vs #2 game where there are a ton of points. Of course, the next time I see an offense that isn’t quasi-NFL or crazy triple-option put up yards on Michigan this year will be the first offense I see do it. Mattison is a genius, and I assume he’ll be ready to stop OSU.
