NFLPA Says Darren Rovell Has “Track Record of Bad Analysis and Uninformed Opinion”
Darren Rovell contributed to the 30-for-30 documentary “Broke”, and also wrote about the NFLPA Financial Advisory Program. The NFLPA was not happy with some inaccuracies put out by Rovell (some of which have been corrected in the written piece) and published a “letter to the editor” on its own website.
After going through its list of inaccuracies, the NFLPA pointed out that they had worked with ESPN in providing fact checking information on the Financial Advisory Program months earlier. “Despite these efforts, though, we were disappointed to see the flippant, inaccurate comments made by this media personality in the film. When it comes to the NFLPA, Rovell has a track record of bad analysis and uninformed opinion.”
Rovell responded by calculating how much NFLPA spokesman George Atallah earns per minute that it took for the NFLPA to write that piece, and then tweeted it out as a piece of very meaningful information.*
* No he didn’t (Not yet, anyway)

I got through about 45 minutes of Broke. It ain’t great.

I got through about 45 minutes too. I might go back and finish, but haven’t felt a compelling need.
Something about Darren Rovell really bothers me. I’ve never followed him on twitter, and never read anything on purpose he’s written. He just seems a little too happy with himself, and just emanates this air of smugness and arrogance.

Broke is not going to tell you anything about how athletes squander money that you don’t already know.
October 4th, 2012 at 4:19 PM
Twitter handle on the back of the jersey, huh? What a fucking asshole.
October 4th, 2012 at 4:20 PM
It was pretty meh at best. I just wish LeBron James was gonna go broke. He’s dumb enough. His handlers won’t let it happen though.

Rovell has all the creepiness and slime of a sports agent, but the charisma of Hideki Irabu.
October 4th, 2012 at 4:23 PM
broke sucked, which is a rarity for the 30 for 30 series.
October 4th, 2012 at 4:27 PM
This might be the best thing the NFLPA has ever done. If Rovell met the NFLPA in a club he would point out that he has a track record of having like a million more twitter followers than they do
October 4th, 2012 at 4:27 PM
Rovell made the comments, but ESPN produced the “documentary”.
Who’s the fact checker here?
October 4th, 2012 at 4:27 PM
That’s not what Sam Stifling Eifling said.
/watched it
//thought it was ok
///hand a shit eating grin watching Sean Salisbury elaborate about his money issues

Pretty sure there is a 30 for 30 coming up on Maurice Clarett. I hope the statue of limitations has run out.

I figured out how to use my twitter mute filter, just for Darren Rovell.
Although I’m considering adding Starkweather to the list.

If there is a reenactment of him being pulled over by cops and tazed to no effect because he was wearing a bulletproof vest, then I’m in.

This angry young dad schtick of yours has just gone too far this time.

Have to admit, I see his name netioned here all the time and have no idea who he is. Some Twitterati type, I gather.
Also, I was surprised when I went back to the byline and it wasn’t JMonk.

Dirt, not to pile on, but is everything alright at home?
October 4th, 2012 at 4:38 PM
im not sure clarett still has an axe to grind, unfortunately.

Got invited back to the 10 year annivesary of the 2002 NC team. I don’t think it’ll feature his mom getting a new double-wide or him getting a trans am.

I hit rock bottom on Monday, or so I was told. I’m unhinged. I’ve only recently realized how much I’ve changed, and how angry I’ve become.

Get a job so we can ask what it is you do….
October 4th, 2012 at 4:47 PM
How does that work? I just unfollow if I’m sick of something/someone….
October 4th, 2012 at 4:51 PM
the worst is the douchebags who get angry with people and tweet them saying “Unfollow!”. nobody cares.
October 4th, 2012 at 4:52 PM
Dirt, the Orioles season is probably over after tomorrow, so I will go back to being less obviously insufferable after that.

Maybe it’s because I’m in the industry, but the “answer” is so profoundly simple. Require to be on the list of recommended advisors, they must be a registered RIA with FINRA. Obviously not going to catch 100%, but it’s about the best anybody can do.

I’m not really sure how useful it is either. But I muted Comedy Central on my phone app a few weeks ago because they were filling my feed up with shit (I think it was South Park premiere night), but still have them show up in my feed on the PC. I guess they’re not showing up on my phone still, haven’t really noticed.

Thanks to my terrible typing skills, I just found out that accuweather.com bought the site “wAEther.com” to redirect traffic there… sneaky bastards.
Their app sucks though… nearly impossible to use because it is slow cluttered/slow.

I take your reverse jinx and raise you. Rangers lose eleventy billion to -273 (absolute 0 in Kelvin you see).
October 4th, 2012 at 5:18 PM
you messed that up…
-273 Centrigrade = absolute zero
0 Kelvin = absolute zero
October 4th, 2012 at 5:52 PM
Damn….you’re right. I’m tired

Rovell = Asshole
He’s never been worried about the facts.
