Maria Sharapova and Sasha Vujacic are not getting married. Their engagement is over. The tennis star and the former NBA player began dating in 2009, got engaged in October 2010, and quietly called off the marriage three months ago. After the news broke overseas a few days ago, Sharapova was asked about it at the US Open.

“I was waiting for someone to actually ask me that question, but nobody did directly … I have never really been the person to announce things. I never announced when we were together or never announced that we were engaged. I never have in any of my previous relationships, as well.”
