Anderson Silva defeated Chael Sonnen at UFC 148 tonight in Las Vegas. Silva was held down the entire first round, but was able to keep the fight standing in the second and put away the man who has been insulting his name and country for the last two-plus years.

After a dominant first round, Sonnen went for a spinning elbow in the second, missed, slipped and went to the ground. Silva landed a nearly* illegal knee and jumped on Sonnen, landing punches and elbows.

*Oh so close. At full speed, it looked illegal, but the naked eye cannot always understand what Anderson Silva does.

After the fight, Silva and Sonnen were as gracious as was possible. Silva even invited Chael over for a barbeque.
