“Good Job! Good Effort!” – A Young Miami Heat Fan Who Didn’t Know Any Better
This kid is young and was probably hoping to get some game-worn swag from one of his heroes. (Probably Shane Battier.) Either that or he was being incredibly sarcastic and condescending towards the Miami Heat after they dropped Game 5 tonight. Those are the only two reasons he would be yelling “Good job! Good effort!” repeatedly as the Heat sulked into the locker room. [@Jose3030]

Hard hitting journalism. Was the kid sarcastic or not? Only on thebiglead. Tune in tomorrow for “did the third grader mean it when he offered to trade his corn dog for an ice cream cup at lunch?”

If he was being sarcastic that would shoot my opinion of Heat fans up quite a bit.

Eric Spoelstra watches the film Heat every morning, working to perfect the mannerisms of Lt. Vincent Hanna.

+1.
The best thing about the tape is when you hear the kid’s muffled voice in the hallway via dopler effect.

Would I mind if the Boston crowd chanted “Good Job Good Effort” as they counted down a game 6 win? No. No I wouldn’t.

Good Job Good Effort getting some traction.

I’m calling it now: Tiger misses a putt next week at the US Open – you’re gonna get a “good job good effort” outta the crowd somewhere.

Brilliant.

I have to assume this kid rolls in LeBron’s posse. He apparently is happy with things like effort and probably MVP awards but doesn’t so much care about winning.

Screw this team. I’m a Heat fan for as long as they’ve existed and even I am starting to hate them.

SJ … I can’t imagine how that is – a long time fan now getting force-fed the two most self-important, privileged and egotistical jackasses in all of sports. In all of sports history, quite possibly.

It’s just an even bigger bummer because Wade didn’t used to be like this. He came into the organization as a guy with a good head on his shoulders who busted his ass on the floor and played the game right. Now he’s this obvious self important asshole who pouts up and down the floor when he doesn’t get a call and postures when he makes a play. It’s pretty hard to cheer for these guys anymore.

Lebron wasnt like that either. Around the 2008 Olympics he started to become a prima donna. But he was always a bad tipper.

this clown just doesn’t get it.

“this clown just doesn’t get it.” Seriously? The kid is nine and is cheering his heroes. I can remember being his age and simply being thrilled that Bill Freehan waved at me at a Tigers game. Let him enjoy it while he can. The sad, pathetic, cynicism that circles around a standard adult sports fan will come soon enough.

love this little kid’s positivity.

I truly can’t see what they have done to piss you off. But since you are a Tennessee fan, and somehow, a Heat “fan,” it appears that you have no real country. Cheer for the Bulls. That way when DRose comes back you can tell everyone how you followed them before DRose. Cheer for the Angels and tell tales about your fandom prior to Trout, Pujols, and Hamilton. Just do me a favor and stop being such a bitch and whining about your team in public like you were ever a fan to begin with.
