Caroline Wozniacki Is Launching an Underwear Line

Caroline Wozniacki was recently placed on the Maxim Hot 100 list. While that doesn’t amount to a whole hill of beans, it should be noted that Wozniacki, who’s still dating Rory McIlroy, is launching her own underwear line.
Over the weekend, Wozniacki was eliminated in the third round of the French Open. Her exit featured a slight disagreement with a tournament official over what was in and what was out.
The good news is that she should be back stateside in time to see Rory miss the cut at the U.S. Open this next weekend.

She’s horrible at tennis, so good for her getting money otherwise.
June 5th, 2012 at 1:23 PM
If by horrible you mean she’s one of the 8 best in the world, then yes, she’s horrible. She’s not one of the top-4 in the world, but she almost always makes the QTRs or better. She just gets manhandled on the court when she faces the big hitters. Sort of like Martina Hingis at the end of her career.

June 5th, 2012 at 1:37 PM
Not in the Grand Slams she sure as shit does not. Worst number one in the world women’s tennis has ever had.
June 5th, 2012 at 1:37 PM
She’s like Marcello Rios, but better looking. Slightly.
June 5th, 2012 at 1:38 PM

June 5th, 2012 at 1:39 PM

Last 3 U.S. Opens: SF, SF, F
Last 3 French Opens: QF, 3rd, 3rd
Last 3 Wimbledons: 4th, 4th, 4th
Last 3 Aussie Opens: QF, SF, QF
7/12 QF or better is pretty damn good. Again, she’s overrated as a top 4 seed, but she’s a top-8 player for sure.
June 5th, 2012 at 1:43 PM
I’m sure he’s Tiger’n it up every second shes not by his side.
June 5th, 2012 at 1:43 PM
He’s not leaving her for you, so don’t get your hopes up.
June 5th, 2012 at 1:43 PM
She’s made 6 of the last 11 QTRs in Grand Slams. Pretty good. But you are right about worst #1. That said, she’s far from terrible, although I suspect the ship has sailed on her ever winning one.
June 5th, 2012 at 1:43 PM
well, I got a job, but we haven’t sold our house yet. we’re moving in two weeks though so I may be living in Tennessee and paying a mortgage in Florida for a while. things are coming together, but we’re going to have a lot of transitioning the next few months.

June 5th, 2012 at 1:44 PM
Has to be a hard court event and she has to have some luck in the draw. In today’s tennis, you can’t be defensive/offensive only. You have to be able to do both.
June 5th, 2012 at 1:45 PM
Six out of twelve, she didn’t make the Aussie quarters in 2010.
So in half of the grandslams she’s one of the last eight standing.
So she’s a top sixteen player.
June 5th, 2012 at 1:45 PM

June 5th, 2012 at 1:51 PM
No and yes. Nadal owns the fuck out of him right now. It’s almost as much of a mental edge as it is a physical one. Nadal’s shot to Fed’s backhand cripples him.

Spencer, im not quite sure..if its a 5 set match, then no. Hed have to dominate a couple sets and take the match in 4. If this were hardcourt or wimbledon, id say yes without a doubt. Since its clay, it will be tough. Nada hasnt really been tested this tournament so i cant say if he would struggle against Fed. He would struggle against the Djoker

June 5th, 2012 at 2:02 PM
id take rory’s game over tiger’s even when tiger was in his prime. tiger had (and still has) swing flaws that rory doesn’t.
i stick with my tiger/seve comp. scoring and talent are two different things. it isn’t rory’s talent that makes him hit stupid shots.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:02 PM

June 5th, 2012 at 2:06 PM
And it looks like Fed and Djokovic will have a nice rematch of last year’s French Open semifinal.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:08 PM
I’d take Tiger at Pebble and St Andrews in 2000(?) over any golf I’ve ever seen. Rory has the benefit of recency bias (a word I may have just made up). Granted those are two of the best possible courses for him, but still…
June 5th, 2012 at 2:09 PM
This. And intimidation too. Tiger won a lot of Sundays before he ever picked up a club. There’s a lot of Sunday mornings that could have started with “okay which one of you is gonna take second”?

June 5th, 2012 at 2:12 PM
I had that look after a guy almost hit me with a car while I was running last night. Was completely his fault, and I dive out of the way and hit the hood. He then stops to look back and I give him a crazed look and sprinted toward his drivers-side door. He peeled out quick before I got there.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:12 PM
regardless, and i agree tiger 2000 was the best golfer ive ever seen, rory’s swing is more consistent, sound and just as powerful. IF (admittedly a massive if) he had tiger’s old head (the one that had hair), it’d be over for everyone.
i love watching tiger hit those miraculous shots as much as anyone, but rory’s the ultimate driving machine with a nice putter. jack proved how deadly that combo is when combined with intense focus.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:12 PM

June 5th, 2012 at 2:13 PM
Tiger in his prime was twice the putter Rory’s best will ever sniff. Greatest clutch putter ever.
Putting wins out. Sorry. That cannot be a discussion, ever. There is nothing Rory can do now that he is better than Tiger at in Tiger’s prime. Tee, irons, short game, putting, mental make-up, nothing.

June 5th, 2012 at 2:16 PM
The 2000 US Open was the greatest display of golf of all time. Tiger shoots a -12 and second was fucking +3. That’s insanity. They shouldn’t even give those guys T-2 money.
After one round -6 (up 1), after two rounds -8 (up 6), after three rounds -8 (up 10), after four rounds -12 (up 15).
June 5th, 2012 at 2:17 PM
that’s such horseshit on multiple levels.
putting wins out? then why did tiger win despite being 40+th in putts gained? how did trevino or hogan ever win?
rory’s a better driver than tiger’s ever been at any point in his career…just as long, more accurate. would rory EVER be scared to pull his driver like tiger was from 2003-2006 or has been from 2009 to now?
June 5th, 2012 at 2:18 PM
this is just off the top of my head, so im not sure how accurate it was, but im pretty sure he led the field in driving distance, greens in regulation and putts per round. total annhilation.

June 5th, 2012 at 2:21 PM
lol…a threesome of my coworkers (two played college golf) and one ringer entered a big $$$ scramble like this and ended up shooting -17 and finished 3rd. just insane…id kill to be good enough to play in a scramble like that.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:23 PM
Last year shot -16 once and -17 once and lost both on the scorecard playoff. Played one last weekend and shot -14 with 2 eagles….lost by 1 and got no skins.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:27 PM
Tiger was #1 in total driving a few times. Rory hasn’t been the longest or #1 in total driving. So I would say he’s been a better driver than Rory is. But I would say Tiger at his peak off the tee was better than Rory now off the tee. Before Woods ruined himself.

June 5th, 2012 at 2:31 PM
tiger was 1 by virtue of his distance before the equipment explosion…rory’s playing in the age of customized shafts and ubiquitous 460cc drivers and juiced balls. most of the guys tiger was outdriving were coming from the persimmon and balata era where accuracy still was actually improtant.
now, driving is somewhat of a lost art. if equipment werent so advanced, lee westwood and rory would have a significant advantage over the run of the mill guys.
tiger at his peak has to be pro-rated for equipment of that era, but i don’t remember a time where tiger was a legitimately great driver of the ball in regards to both accuracy and distance, even in 2000. don’t mistake his ability to get out of shitty situations with his irons as being a good driver.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:31 PM
An outing where anything lower than -13 wins is kinda bullshitty. gotta bring 4 guns to that, thats no fun. If you don’t come storming out the gate you know you’re dead after 4 holes.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:31 PM
You can always tell when it’s fishy….bucnh of people no one knows post a score about a few strokes better than anyone else. I’ve played in some that go out in 8-somes and though it takes forever (which isn’t the worst thing when they provide beer anyway), I actually enjoy it b/c I know whatever score goes up is legit.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:33 PM
We were actually -3 through 5, than kinda fell apart when the Jack Daniel’s kicked in.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:34 PM

June 5th, 2012 at 2:35 PM
Ya ours was a charity thing and the winners were a bunch of guys that were 40+ and looked like weekend hackers. Fishy.
@Scalia: last summer I played in one with 8-somes. Loved that each group kept the other’s score. Way more legit. It did take longer, but your rhythm always gets fucked up in a scramble so I didn’t mind.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:35 PM
Just FYI, Jankovic was also once number one in women’s tennis, underscoring what mole said with the rankings. There’s definitely some competition for “worst #1 ever”.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:35 PM
the 2 x foursomes outing = 6.25 hours to play. No thanks.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:36 PM
i saw earlier one of you guys asked about mizunio jpx irons. I have had them about a month, and they couldnt be better. not too clunky, but not blade thin, forgiving and long. same sweet mizuno feel. A little heft in them as well, and you can work the ball some.
perfect club for me- i have been between 79-85 every round since I bought them. I will never own an iron other than mizuno again.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:37 PM
Exactly….and generally you take some time figuring out which ball to hit and talk about the shot with your goup. If you do that while the other group is hitting (and they aren’t idiots), the actual time isn’t that much different.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:37 PM
golf cheaters should be murdered on site.
one of my best friends just doesnt get it man. dont talk to me about how you play by the rules and then bitch and moan and about the penalties when you cant find your lost wayward tee shot. Just admit you cant cut it by the rules.
+1 2-shot penalty
June 5th, 2012 at 2:39 PM
playing the ball down is a shock to the system.
I think the hardest thing is at one’s address. Getting behind a ball, not addressing it (putting club down) to ensure that ball never moves. Not simple (for me anyway).
I was at Firestone when I followed Westwood & James Kingson (right after Westy’s 59/60?). Kingston shot a 65 (low round) and I was amazed how close his wedge would be in the trap to the sand, yet they never ground.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:42 PM
If I was good enough to be in a big money scramble, yeah, you’d have to expect the 2 x 4-some. Some traveling person from the organzier/charity would solve a lot of issues.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:42 PM
/coop’d?
June 5th, 2012 at 2:43 PM
Even worse are the guys that take 12 mulligans per round, don’t count lost balls, automatically count any putts within 3 feet of the cup despite rimming out, and then take 30 seconds to add up their score on each hole, and then say they are pretty happy with their 85.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:46 PM
i dont care about mulligans or ignoring penalties to a certain point…like once or twice a round if it’s a practice or casual round. as long as it’s not counting towards a bet or tourney, it’s all in the name of fun.
just don’t claim it’s a legit score.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:51 PM
I have two very particular people in mind who do it every round and claim it as a legit score. They are the sourse of my wrath. If it’s a normal Sunday round and someone wants to hit a few extra tee shots, I don’t give a shit.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:53 PM
my good buddy (aforementioned) does the power draw/hook OB left. Re-tees. Same thing. Drives up to area, can’t find ball. “I drop here for, what, 3…4?”
No man you’re five back on the tee. But I just shut my mouth as we aint playing for money. What’s bad is when we discuss scores later. UGH
June 5th, 2012 at 2:54 PM
see…i don’t mind it in the name of convenience. if you see it go out, just take the penalty and you’re lying 3 to save time. fuck a provisional in a casual round…then again, why do you really care about score then?
June 5th, 2012 at 2:55 PM
The people who do this get SO SO PISSY when they want to play for $$$ and then this shit gets brought up.
They should include a USGA rules of golf with every new set of clubs.
June 5th, 2012 at 2:57 PM
/facepalm
June 5th, 2012 at 3:01 PM
I totally agree spence, to each his own. I just hate hearing him talk about his scores though. Now, if my scores were lower legitimitely, he could pull this crap all he wants.
June 5th, 2012 at 3:18 PM
I don’t mind a small bucket off hole 1 if it’s not for money or in league play. Hit 1, not happy with it than hit another. That’s about all as far as mulligans go for me. First shot of the day can get a break if you ask me.
June 5th, 2012 at 3:22 PM
lol at choice of words.
amen.
June 5th, 2012 at 3:22 PM
Ball up, learn to hit off the tee in front of people. Life isn’t about doing everything over, it’s about doing stuff right the first time.
/team no mulligans ever
/usually hit my second shot from the driving range, if no white stakes
June 5th, 2012 at 3:24 PM
But yeah… the OB/lost ball rule is fine to skirt, and if you shoot 95, I don’t care if it’s really supposed to be a 97, but at least admit you KNOW the rule for when you are playing a real round.
Also… most people don’t know the difference between a provisional and a mulligan.

Was playing with a buddy this weekend, and this really cute girl playing alone comes up behind us and we offer to let her join up (weekend so it was slow). Not only was she very attractive, but she was a 3 handicap…. it was a bit intimidating and caused a few sub-mediocre shots.
