Hawk Harrelson Loses Mind Upon Jose Quintana’s Ejection
Hawk Harrelson, the consistently embarrassing announcer for the White Sox, completely lost hit hat Wednesday afternoon after Chicago’s Jose Quintana was ejected for throwing behind Tampa’s Ben Zobrist. Quintana’s “slip” was quite obviously in response to Alex Cobb’s plunking of A.J. Pierzynski in the previous inning, but no warnings had been issued. Thus, Hawk went animal.
The clip honestly sounds like an unhinged fan announcing from the comfort of a padded room.
For those interested, the 2012 season marks Harrelson’s 22nd straight year as the most laughable voice in all of baseball.

This is a BS situation – same thing happened to the Braves vs the Cubs. A Braves pitcher was ejected w/o any warnings and after multiple plunkings. Hopefully, Samardzija will get one in the ear the next time the two play.

It was a horse poop call by the mini-me umpire and deserved all the scorn anyone could heap upon him. Ventura should have said whatever it took to get tossed, too.
Chicago has a great history of homers. Caray and Santo were God-awful announcers, much worse than Hawk, yet revered as legends. I don’t mind the rah rah stuff. It is better than the strained attempts at witty banter or filler talk that permeates lots of baseball broadcasts.
