Ronda Rousey is your new Strikeforce 135-pound female champion. If you didn’t know you had one of those, you better recognize that now because Ronda Rousey is the new face of women’s MMA. Rousey submitted Miesha Tate via armbar at 4:36 of the first round to claim the title. Tate’s arm looked to be destroyed.

Rousey talked her way into a title fight against Tate. Then the two talked and butted heads and finally  met in the cage. For almost five minutes the two went back and forth. Tate (somehow) held off one submission attempt, the two went back-and-forth and eventually Rousey locked in an armbar that was inescapable. We don’t know exactly what the injury was, but that arm looked broke.

What a night for women’s mixed martial arts: It also be noted that Sarah Kaufman and Alexis Davis engaged in a bloody slugfest on the undercard tonight. Kaufman won the decision and should be Rousey’s next opponent.
