Dorial Green-Beckham’s Mother Offered Insight Into College Football Head Coaches
Dorial Green-Beckham, the nation’s most sought-after recruit, chose Missouri over Arkansas on Signing Day. Fox Sports’ Thayer Evans was on hand for much of the wide receiver’s recruitment. Dorial Green-Beckham’s mom Tracy provided him with some interesting insight into the prominent head coaches recruiting her son.
Texas was Texas, with $50 a plate buffets and catered breakfasts. Mack Brown was charming and his parents found him the most trustworthy.
“The other head coaches might be like, ‘OK, let’s get a picture,’ ” she said. “He’s like, ‘OK, now the moms!’ He’s like the wedding planner. He’s like, ‘OK everybody, Hook ‘em ‘Horns, here we go!’ He’s just hilarious. ‘OK, hold up this Heisman Trophy!’ It’s just like one thing after another.”
Mrs. Beckham scratched Notre Dame off the list after seeing Brian Kelly slam his headset down after a loss. Alabama under Nick Saban was “not as kid friendly” as other schools. She described then Kansas coach Turner Gill’s recruitment effort as “a mess.” She also described Lane Kiffin as a jilted girlfriend would not take no for an answer.
“He was kind of like the girlfriend that’s just like, ‘This is just a phase you’re going through, you really don’t want to break up with me,’” Tracy Beckham said.
Sounds about right.

He’s like the wedding planner.
Perfect.
She described then Kansas coach Turner Gill’s recruitment effort as “a mess.”
Cues Husker fan signal to come defend him because he wasn’t given enough time.
