Georgia Recruit’s Church Becomes Battleground For Mark Richt, Will Muschamp and Jimbo Fisher
SEC Country is also the Bible Belt. Not surprisingly, that can factor into recruiting. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Mark Richt, Will Muschamp and Jimbo Fisher have turned a church into a recruiting battleground, while courting Rivals’ Five-Star linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons.
The Georgia coach will attend a 90-minute Bible Study with Harvey-Clemons’ family this evening, before meeting in a church conference room. Though, Coach Boom already beat him there.
It created quite a stir when Florida’s coach showed up at church last month. “We gave everybody a heads up, and they were surprised to see [Muschamp],” Clemons said. “And the collection plate was equally surprised.”
Johnny-come-lately Jimbo Fisher’s visit will be relegated to a secular establishment.

So the coaches are smart and taking an (genuine or not can be debated) interest in the recruit’s faith is what you’re saying here. Oh.

really? doesn’t seem like that big of a surprise that a Gator (especially one with a Dawg background that worked for Texas) would be pinching off the collection plate.
