Tyrann Mathieu’s 92-yard Punt Return Sparks LSU to 41-17 Win over Arkansas, BCS Title Game Berth
The Honey Badger did it again, and LSU is going to the BCS title game, regardless of what happens in the SEC title game against Georgia next weekend. LSU 41, Arkansas 17. Would you believe the Razorbacks led 14-0? With LSU trailing 14-7 late in the 2nd quarter, Mathieu fielded a punt and raced 92 yards virtually untouched for a score. LSU tacked another one on at the end of the half, and Arkansas never really threatened in the 2nd half.
Who will LSU play in the title game? The BCS cartel will put all the 1-loss teams in a hat – sorry, Houston, you’re unbeaten, but you play in a pathetic conference and, well, those are the rules – and pick one out. Alabama will probably be your victor, but what happens if Auburn manages to beat Alabama in the Iron Bowl Saturday? Stanford? Oklahoma State? Virginia Tech?
Yes, everyone wants a playoff.

Recycling my post from a few minutes ago
The best part of the game? A coach who quit on the Falcons during the season with a form letter lecturing Les Miles on class when everybody knew he just was forced to match Alabama on margin of victory.

Mathieu has the look of a guy who is gonna make tons of plays at the next level. He would look good in Charger powder blue.

It sucks that Arkansas had to play the two best teams (by far) on the road this season. That’s an odd quirk in the SEC scheduling that they get both superpowers on the road one year, home the next, etc.

It’s not an odd quirk; essentially there is a 25% of it happening. If it makes any difference, a game in Fayetteville would have been won by LSU by about 21 points.
